Best Thing About Not Losing Weight

Are you wondering if I have lost my mind? Well, you are not alone. Am I really going to post a blog regarding the best thing about not losing weight right now? How could that ever be a good thing? Let me try to explain.

After losing 35 pounds in about a year, I have been stuck around the same weight (232 lbs.) for many months, now. I am trying to stay positive so I started thinking about the best thing about not losing weight. It is kind of hard to do, but I think the best thing about not losing weight is that I'm not gaining it! Granted, I have gone up a few pounds, back down, then up, then down again; the great part of this is that I never gained more than 8 pounds since losing 35, and I have always managed to get back down to where I was. This, for the most part, is called maintaing your weight.

Even though I haven't been able to bust through my current lowest weight, I must say that I am proud that I have not only lost 35 pounds so far, but that I have maintain that loss for a substantial amount of time! These past few months have given me great practice for what is yet to come; maintaining my goal weight. I now know that I will be able to do it! I will be able to maintain my weight loss when it happens. I have it in me; I have done it!

So, there you have it! I'm convinced. If there is a silver lining to not losing weight, there really must be an upside to just about everything in life. You just have to search for it!

  1. I love this post! I lost 32 pounds from August 2011 to March 2012. In march I was my lowest post child at 267. From March to Very recently I would gain or lose small amounts for 3 months. I never went up past 274 during those months (so about 7 pounds). Over the last few weeks my weight has been Melting off at 2-3 lbs a week it is CRAZY to me! Today I weighed in at 266! A new low for me.
    It is almost like my body needed time to reset to a new "normal" before I could lose more weight. I really get this post!

  2. This is so true, over the last 11 months I have lost about 40 pounds but I have been stuck there for about 3 months! At
