Cancelled Plans

This weekend didn't exactly go as planned for me. I was very much looking forward to a busy weekend. I was suppose to go decorate Christmas cookies with friends, go bowling for a birthday party and go to a recognition brunch for my sister. Those plans were cancelled due to my doctors appointment Friday afternoon.

This appointment was a follow up from my last internal sonogram. It appears there are still remnants from my miscarriage three weeks ago. My doctor prescribed pills for me to cause contractions for 48 hours. That's when I immediately cancelled all of my plans.

I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is, I didn't have any pain this weekend. The bad news is, the medicine didn't work. I called my doctor this morning to see what I have to do next. She ordered bloodwork for me and I got that done over lunch. I am nervous to see what is next and anxious for this nightmare to be over.

On the brighter side of things, since I was afraid to leave my comfort zone this weekend, I had my family come to me instead! I made a nice dinner and played games on Saturday night. It was really nice to not have to leave the house as I was afraid of the possibility of some pretty heavy contractions.

As the weekend went on, and no contractions appeared, I got a little more comfortable with leaving the house. I didn't want to do anything physical while on the medicine, so I went for a long drive with my husband. We went out to dinner and enjoyed a relaxing date night together.

This week, I am going to hold off on scheduling any fitness goals. I am not sure what my doctor has planned for me and I don't want to set myself up for failure. I have, however, figured out my dinner plans for the week:

Monday: chicken over rice with peppers and onions
Tuesday: chicken enchiladas
Wednesday: leftover chicken enchiladas
Thursday: ~ vendor show ~
Friday: calzones
Saturday: white chicken chili

I am not sure what I'll be having for dinner on Thursday since I am co-hosting a Thirty One party with my mother in law. I wasn't feeling very creative so I planned leftovers for Wednesday evening. My husband has night class on Wednesdays and Thursdays so I don't tend to make myself anything that takes a lot of work.

If you have any quick and easy weeknight meals you would like to share, please let me know! I'm always looking to cook up something new.

Since I don't have much else for you today, I will leave you with a photo of my meal from our date night. The dish was chicken piccata and it was even better than it looks!

  1. That meal looks delcious! We have been stuck in a food rut lately. Once I find something we both like I cook it all the time and then we are burnt out! I am definitely making it a goal to try some new things. I hope everything goes well with your appointment. I hate the waiting game, I've been there and it's no fun. Thinking about ya this week!
