Vegetable Garden

I know that it may be a little too early to start thinking about vegetable gardens, but with the awesome weekend we just had (temperature in the 60's) I just can't help but think of Spring!

If you like to plan ahead like me, you can find a list of the 10 Easiest Vegetables to Grow in an article by Sparkpeople.com by clicking here. My husband has already told me that he wants a lot of green beans this year; I'm glad to find those on the "easy" list!

I didn't plant a large vegetable garden last year, however; two years ago, my husband and I had a large vegetable garden filled with tomatoes, green peppers, green beans, radishes, carrots and squash. Aside from the tomatoes (I just don't know what went wrong, there!) we had a very successful garden. Squash was probably my favorite vegetable to plant that year because of how much we got and how frequently we got it (not to mention, squash is one of my favorite vegetables to eat)!

Have you ever planted a vegetable garden before? What are you favorite vegetables to plant?

  1. Good planning happening there. Another plant that is generally simple to garden/raise - eggplants.

Years back my wife and I lived on what we grew in our garden for spring, summer and fall.

We nearly lived on the vegetable patties that I'd make from garden produce, plus a bag of boughten potatos.

First time that I tried fried green tomatoes was during this period also.

Best wishes for fun and productive gardening!

  2. I have never done a garden before, mostly because everything I touch dies! lol But I may give it a try this year.

  3. I don't have a lot of space but I got a cherry tomato plant last year. It didn't do so well. I think I might have gotten the wrong variety. I can't wait to try something new this year!
