6 Goals to Accomplish by 26

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday to meee, happy birthday to me.

Hi, I am 25 now! Well, actually, I turn 25 at 4:36 p.m. today, but who is counting?

Last year, I had a lot of fun working on my 25 by 25 list. I have decided to make another list to accomplish for this upcoming year. It's important to have goals and I just loved having the deadline of my birthday, so I'm giving it another go! I think that I have come up with a list of some pretty important things I want to accomplish in my 25th year of life. (Yes, I do believe that calling this year my 25th year of life sounds extremely weird, but I'm going with it because I'm 25 at 4:36 p.m. today and I can!)

6 Goals to Accomplish by 26

1. 26 recipes before I'm 26
2. Run my second 5K race
3. Reach Onderland (it's gonna happen this year!)
4. Try a new bike/walking trail with my husband
5. Do something I've never done before
6. Pay off our last credit card ($6,400)

Pretty fun stuff, am I right?

--------------------------------------------------

I made a meal plan for the week, but I didn't follow it last night. I was suppose to make Chili but my mom and step dad hosted a birthday party for me yesterday afternoon. (Thanks, guys!) We ended up taking home a lot of salad leftovers and some pizza, too. Needless to say, we didn't even have to make dinner last night, which was great news for this birthday girl!

My mom ordered a super enormous salad from a local restaurant, my favorite, favorite, favorite salad! Did I say this is my favorite salad? I could have eaten the entire thing. Okay, maybe not, but it's my birthday so I can say such things. (P.S. I think my husband is getting sick of me saying "because it's my birthday" since he has been hearing it all weekend long. Since my birthday is on a Monday this year, I decided to only extend my birthday to a "birthday weekend". He should consider himself lucky since I have been known to celebrate birthday weeks!)

My mom also had a super fun cake for me yesterday. She told me my sister helped pick it out. She's pretty nice for getting me a cake with cookies on top and with a "happy birthday sign" in my favorite color on top; purple!

--------------------------------------------------

I had a lot of fun during my birthday weekend! On top of the birthday party my mom threw for me, I also spent time with my in-laws. We all met out for dinner at Pizza Hut. I tried to stay on track by ordering a personal pizza and the salad bar. Mission complete, if you ask me. I ordered a personal pizza so I wasn't eating from an unlimited supply of pizza; once my personal pizza was gone, I was done. Oh, and I must say, Pizza Hut, your cheese is a-maz-ing!

After dinner at Pizza Hut, my in-laws, my husband and I went bowling. This is a nice tradition that we do annually to celebrate everyone's winter birthdays.

My sister-in-law made the most amazing cupcakes known to man. I think she may even have Georgetown Cupcakes beat! Peanut butter frosted cupcakes = YUM! I seriously need that frosting recipe. On another hand, maybe I don't. I know the frosting wouldn't even get a chance to make it to the cupcakes if I made it in my house. I know my weakness all too well.

Just a reminder that my Birthday GIVEAWAY closes today at 4:36 p.m. (eastern time). If you were paying attention earlier in the post, you know why I'm choosing to close the contest at that time. So, any comments after 4:36 p.m. today are out of luck. If you're feeling lucky and it's before 4:36 p.m., though, check out the GIVEAWAY and enter to win! It's easy to do and you're going to love the gifts!

Speaking of the giveaway gifts, I have decided that I simply can not keep the mystery gift a mystery any longer. As you may have guessed from my not-so-subtle hints, the mystery gift is being sponsored by Thirty One. I am totally jealous and super excited to share this SUPER CUTE Thermal Lunch Tote with a matching Mini Zipper Pouch:

Have you ever celebrated a birthday weekend, birthday week or even a birthday month?

  1. June is my birthday 'month' and YES I have celebrated (or tried to get away with as much celebrating and gifting myself as I can) the entire month! But as I got older and had children, I have narrowed it down to a birthday week or weekend. I am just wayyyy to spectacular to have just a birthDAY... haha

  3. I'm so proud of you!! And Happy Birthday! Mine is in less than 6 months so maybe I should think of a few goals to accomplish before I'm 25 also.
