WHAT just happened?

Before I get to the "WHAT just happened moment" from last night, I must fill you in on one of my favorite meals of all time. I know, I usually think that every meal is "the best", but Carrabas is simply amazing.

First of all, I think they made the "Wine Wednesdays" up just for me. After a long drive to Harrisburg, a Blackberry Sangria was just what the doctor ordered.

It was my sisters first visit to Carrabas and I think she loved the restaurant just as much as I did. We both had amazing entrees. She ordered the Seafood Stuffed Cannoli and I had the Chicken Bryan with Green Beans.

We both left there full, and I actually left there with leftovers. This is an accomplishment that doesn't happen often. I'm proud that I didn't eat it all (because even though I was stuffed, I probably could have).

Leaving the restaurant with leftovers gave me just enough room to fit in some time on the treadmill back at the hotel where we are staying in Harrisburg.

Last night's run was A-MAZ-ING. I couldn't believe it when I beat my personal record for fastest mile. My last record set was last month at about 13 minutes. Last night, I ran a 10:25 minute mile. I could not believe it. I kept thinking, WHAT just happened?

I am pretty convinced that this treadmill was set up a little differently than the treadmill I am use to at the gym back home, but I don't care; I'll take a 10:25 mile, any day!

Do you run more for distance or for time?
Lately, I have been having fun seeing how fast I can complete my mile. Some days, however, I just run as far as I can until I feel the need to slow down or stop.


  1. Great job on the 10:25 minute mile!! You rock!! I haven't tried running for time yet. I run until I can't do it any more, either with breathing, or my legs. Right now it's not to long, but I am working on it!

  2. Great job on the fastest mile! I just beat my old record yesterday too, it is a great feeling. I am not up to your speed yet though. I typically go more for distance and would someday like to be capable of half-marathon distance... but I am only halfway there, so it feels almost impossible at this point.

  3. That food looks so yummy!! At this point I am just going for distance, but I am hoping to work on my speed soon to get ready for the spring/summer 5K's I'll be doing!
