Don't Let the Face Fool You

This past weekend was great! Friday night was spent relaxing at home; Saturday was spent at a friend’s house in New York; and Sunday was spent at home, outside!

Before our trip to New York, my husband and I stopped at Chipotle for lunch. This was my first time at Chioptle and I must say, the food is good! Ordering was a little stressful, but it may have just been because it was busy. Also, I think the people behind the counter just assume you know what you're doing, because "who hasn't been to Chipotle?" I was a little intimidated, but can now say that I have tried it.

I ordered a chicken and cheese quesadilla and my husband ordered a beef burrito. I could tell that the ingredients were fresh. They also advertise that they use local, organic ingredients when possible. Their chicken and beef are antibiotic free, too. My husband and I will definitely be going back; mostly because of the 3 lb. burrito he gets when eating there. Don't let the face above fool you, it may have looked impossible at the time, but he was able to finish it!

My husband helped install my friend's water softener while we were visiting in New York. My friend and I went grocery shopping at Wegman's while the boys went to Home Depot next door. She introduced me to something amazing while we were at Wegmans. Bare Fruit Cinnamon Apple Chips. She bought a bag so I could try it for myself and they were great! The entire bag in the picture above was only 180 calories. This would be a great snack after a long day at work, during my commute home. I will definitely be trying these again!

We did a lot of grilling out this weekend. The weather was perfect for it! While we were in New York, we had steak from the grill. On Sunday, we had my father-in-law over and grilled turkey sausage. I made a super fresh salad to go with our turkey sausage and we tried something new, also recommended from my friend in New York.

Crunchtables! Have you ever tried them? We found them in the frozen section at Walmart. They were really good with a side of ranch or by themselves. It's a great side for just about any meal! We bought a few boxes of zucchini and one box of the green beans to try.

The weather was so nice on Sunday that we took the dogs for a walk at the park and went for the first motorcycle ride of the year! Even though the weather is dropping back down and we will be seeing snow this week, I feel like I have been bitten by the spring bug and I'm so excited to get back outside!

This upcoming Spring is going to be so much fun! We plan on going on bicycle trails, dog walks, motorcycle rides, to start gardening, hosting picnics and grilling every other night!

What thoughts come to mind when you think of this upcoming Spring?

  1. Sounds like a good weekend! I did some spring cleaning which was really necessary. I also made a lot of soup because I was trying to get over a cold. It went by too fast but I'm excited for good weather. I'd like to get out on the trails again! HAve a good one!

  2. Spring... oh Spring... It pops up its elusive head but I fear the snow is returning soon (maybe even tonight)... But it is nice to get a taste of spring to help with the "Cabin Fever" everyone seems to have by March! I love love love grilling in the spring, summer and fall! A new grill is on my early spring shopping list!
Enjoy the little bouts of spring as they pop up.. summer will be here before ya know it!
btw... is that a PINK leash on your dog??? hahaha... poor Topher!
