Time Management

This Monday has been a busy one. I feel like I've been running ever since I woke up! Too bad I didn't get a chance to actually run. I am not scheduled for a run until tomorrow and I'm hoping our treadmill comes in on time for that! I can't believe tomorrow is the day, the room is cleared out and all ready for it, now!

Today, I was scheduled to do Wii Fit and to eat Pierogies with a side salad for dinner. We added green beans to the mix, too. It was very filling dinner and I am happy to say that I stayed within my calorie goal for the day.

As for Wii Fit, it is 10 minutes to 10:00 p.m. and I have yet to do it. I know that I could have given up some time in the night to fit it in earlier, but it didn't happen. These things happen. I am half tempted to push myself and fit in the Wii Fit as soon as I am done writing this post, but I need sleep, too.

I learned something recently from a work seminar about time management. First of all, I learned that 60-80% of the time in our day is out of our control. Think about that for a second (but no more than a second, because precious time is a-wasting)! Trying to fit everything that you want to do in just 40-20% of the time in your day seems like a daunting task; mostly, because it is a daunting task! So, to manage your time better, it may help to split the tasks of your day in to three different groups. I'll give you an example from today, specifically:

Things I have to do:
- Work
- Eat
- Sleep
- Shower

Things I should do:
- Sweep
- Mop
- Dishes
- Grocery Shop
- Exercise

Things I would like to do:
- Shop at Lowes
- Paint my nails
- Blog
- Take my dogs for a walk

The things that I actually did today are bolded. As you can see, I didn't get everything on my lists done, but I did get at least one thing done from each list. Sometimes, this just has to be good enough.

Did you get to do at least one thing that you wanted to do today?
