Cookie Exchange and Christmas Cards

Today involved about 14 dozen cookies. It was a pretty amazing day.

I woke up this morning to my husband baking cookies. I had a cookie exchange to go to at 1:00 p.m. and I needed 14 dozen cookies baked before I left. I slept in a little late (9:00 a.m.) and I woke up to the smell of cookies. God bless my sweet husband. He already had 4 dozen done, and was working on the rest when I woke up. He's a good man.

The annual cookie exchange is a treat we look forward to every year. I leave the house with 14 dozen of the same kind of cookie, and return to the house with 14 dozen of different kinds. The first thing my husband and I do when I get back from the exchange, is separate what we will be keeping at home and what we will be taking in to work with us. After taking about 10 minutes to decide and sort, I have about 3 dozen of cookies staying home; the rest are going in to work with us.

Last night, before my husband's Christmas party for work, we took our annual Christmas photo with our dogs. The photo was done within 4 attempts. Not so bad, considering it was just us, a tripod and a 10 second delay between each shot.

I can't help but laugh every time I see this picture. In order to make this photo happen, each time we attempted a shot, I had to get the camera ready, click the button, grab a dog toy, run to my spot, throw the toy toward the camera and strike a pose just in time for the picture to take. It was hard not to laugh after the third time. This was the fourth take and we're thinking it's as good as we're going to get, considering.

Christmas cards: family photos or traditional cards?
Christmas cookies: bake a ton, just enough or none at all?
