12 Week Ultrasound

This week, we had our 12 week ultrasound. It was hands-down amazing!

It took only a second for the ultrasound tech to find the baby and boy, did it grow! We were expecting to see a big change since our last ultrasound was at 6 weeks, but this was such an incredible difference. I could see it's legs and arms, it's nose and lips! And as soon as the ultrasound tech moved the wand across my belly, I thought I saw the baby move.

Just a moment later, as the ultrasound tech kept the wand still in one place, I saw the most amazing thing I had ever seen in my life. My baby, our baby, jumping and dancing around! It became so active; it was incredibly entertaining! My husband squeezed my hand with happiness and we both laughed.

Our baby, already making us laugh with it's crazy dance moves! Every time I think about it, I smile.

Since the baby was so active (doing dance moves that could only have been inherited from it's father) we got more time to watch the baby. The tech needed to measure the fluid in the baby's neck and since it was moving around so much, it was hard to get a good snap shot. After a few minutes of watching our baby dance around, we got a good snap shot and the tech was able to measure the fluid. .08 mm was the number she got. Anything above 3 mm is abnormal. We were so relieved! My husband squeezed my hand and let out a "yes!" when she gave us the news; such good news!

The moments we got to spend watching our beautiful, healthy baby dance around on the screen were some of the best moments of our life. The really amazing part is, that I know, the best is yet to come.
