Postpartum Update

Hello, world! This whole having a newborn business is serious, silly, time consuming, and absolutely life fulfilling all at the same time.

It's no surprise that I am not going to be blogging as much this first month or so. I just wanted you to know that I will eventually get back in the groove of things. In the meantime, I am spending most of my time soaking up all these special moments with my newborn and getting use to my new role as mom of the cutest girl in the world!

And don't worry, I haven't forgotten that this is a healthy living/weight loss blog. I know my posts have been baby consumed for, well, a long time now. We'll get back on track with my healthy living goals eventually. However, I can't promise that baby updates won't also be a prominent part of this blog, as well. She's kind of my entire life. I trust you understand.

As for now, I am officially back down to my pre-pregnancy weight! At 40 weeks pregnant, I was 271 lbs. That was a total pregnancy weight gain of 38 lbs. Only 10 days after having Piper, I was back down to my pre-pregnancy weight of 233 lbs. Last night, I tried on my pre-pregnancy jeans for the first time and guess what; they fit!

I decided to stop breastfeeding when Piper turned 2 weeks old. It was becoming too stressful for the both of us. I wasn't producing as much as she needed, and she was getting very frustrated during feedings. Since switching to formula, we have both been feeling so much better! (Bonus: daddy gets to feed her now, too.)

Since I am done breastfeeding, I was able to enjoy an adult drink during my first postpartum date night with my husband last night (Thanks for watching Piper, Grandma and Grandpa)! It was really nice.

It has taken a little getting use to, but I am really loving my new normal.

I am so, so, so glad that I get to be a stay-at-home mom for at least this first year. I know it's going to go fast, so I'm enjoying every moment while I can!
