I have tried something new recently, and I can't wait to share it with you all!
doTERRA Essential Oils |
I am curious, how many of my readers have tried essential oils before? While I have heard a lot of hype about essential oils lately, I only just began using them myself this past month. Now I'm left wondering, what in the world took me so long?
Not too long ago, a reader of goaloflosing.com, Sarah, contacted me as she sells doTERRA essential oils. She asked me if I would be interested in giving some essential oils a try and also in hosting a giveaway for you all. When it comes to a product that has great health benefits, the answer is always going to be "YES"!
As a complete newbie to essential oils, I believe the introductory kit from doTERRA was an absolute great place to start! I will admit, prior to receiving my package, I felt a little intimidated. After all, this was a completely new world for me. Thankfully, it's an easy transition into the wonderful world of essential oils!
One thing that really makes me happy about these essential oils is that they will be great to use as Piper grows. Since she is so young now, she has only been receiving some of the aromatic benefits of the lavender. I think that rubbing a drop of lavender on her sheets is going to be a soothing bedtime routine that we both will come to love!
As for the doTERRA introductory kit, I really think the oils in this pack are a great way to be introduced to the world of essential oils. The kit gives you three very useful essential oils to try and a snapshot of some common uses for those oils.
Below are some of the uses I have tried with these oils, so far:
LAVENDER:
- Rub on sheets and pillows to promote relaxation and easy sleep (done for myself and for my daughter)
- Rub on hands and clothing for a fresh, relaxing smell (it doesn't leave oil marks!)
- Added to a foot bath for easing anxiety and stress
LEMON:
- Chemical-free and great smelling way of cleaning my shower and counter tops (lemon can break down plastic so use a glass spray bottle)
- Removes odor from laundry that was forgotten in the washer overnight
- Added to salmon and asparagus for a lemon zing
- Added to humidifier for good smell and to help with my cold/chest congestion
- Applied topically for mood boosting powers
PEPPERMINT:
- The BEST cure for my headaches. Applied topically on back of neck and temples at hairline
- Applied topically and used aromatically for an energizing pick-me-up
- Applied topically to aching feet for relief
I am so glad that I gave these essential oils a try! Not only do I love them for their smell, I also love them as a homeopathic alternative for medicine. They worked wonders in relieving my headaches and other common symptoms that came with a recent cold of mine.
Are you interested in trying essential oils for yourself? I've got a jar of the Wild Orange essential oil up for grabs! What is the Wild Orange good for? It's a powerful cleaner, it's high in antioxidants, it's a great mood booster and so much more!
If you live in the United States or Canada (I heard your call, Canada!) and are 18 years of age or older, you can use the rafflecopter below to enter for your chance to win the Wild Orange essential oil!
Entries will be taken until April 15th.
One lucky winner will be selected and notified via email.
Thank you, Sarah, for sponsoring this giveaway!Readers, you can check out Sarah's doTERRA Facebook Page and her website, here.

I've been wanting to try essential oils! Need to get that peppermint one for headaches lol
ReplyDeleteMy step sister has been using oils and has been recommending them to me this whole pregnancy and my mom just joined DoTERRA. Not to sell really but more so just for herself. Love seeing they have a lemon because I am kinda obsessed with lemon. Might be something I need to try. To many people love it not to.
ReplyDeleteI have been using essential oils for a while now...
ReplyDeleteDoterra On Guard blend (same as theives) works wonders... This On Guard essential oil has done a great job at keeping me healthy and my immune system supported. I started to use this essential oil during winter (when my family and I usually get sick) by diffusing it and using a roller ball with coconut oil on the bottoms of my feet. Lavender is my go to essential oil to create a calming atmosphere. I use lavender in so many things... Peppermint oil is great for headaches, mice and spiders, and diffusing to help me focus...
I have never tried wild orange oil and I would love to :)
