Quiet Summer Morning

I love mornings like this. Right now, it's nearing 9 a.m. and I have every single window open in my house. There's a cool summer breeze coming through, the kind you get after an evening rain. Everything is quiet outside, with the exception of a few chirping birds and a choir of crickets. My baby is upstairs taking a nap, after a long night of little sleep {teething}. My dogs and I are enjoying the quiet. I have a short time of relaxing before Piper wakes up again. I'll use this time to update you on my first day "back at it" in August.

I decided to make some goals for the remainder of August.

1. Drink 120 oz. water/per day
2. Track calories/daily
3. Workout 3 times/per week

Yesterday, I drank about 96 ounces of water, and I ate about 1,900 calories. I did not work out.

Today, I will work harder on reaching my water goal and I will work out. Teething baby or not -- I need to dig deep and find the motivation to not take each down time I get to relax, but to work toward my goals today. I will also continue to track my calorie intake. On Sunday, the scale said 245 lbs. and by the end of the week, I hope that the scale will say something different. It's Tuesday and by staying accountable with this update and those alike, I believe I will make progress by the end of the week!

Readers, how do you stay accountable with your goals? Do you write it down, share with friends, etc?

  1. I've done all sort of things. I wrote it down, joined sites on the computer that keep tract of calories.

  2. I do Myfitnesspal to track my calories and exercise. I really like it. I hope that you stay motivated this week and meet your goals. I am trying for 1 to 2 pounds this week myself.

  3. Telling people about my goals and updates on them really helps me be accountable! Here's to sticking with it the rest of August!!
