As most of you know, I am a stay-at-home mom. What a challenging and, even more rewarding time this has been in my life!
Some days, my husband comes home to me (and our house) looking like I just survived a zombie apocalypse. Yesterday was one of those days. I was beyond tired from little sleep and awake early from a 3 a.m. wake up call, courtesy of my favorite girl in the world.
Instead of taking a nap with Piper later that morning, I decided to workout instead. Working out gave me a little energy boost, but I was crashing hard at 1 p.m. That's when I texted my husband, asking him when he thought he'd be home because I was exhausted!
When my husband finally got home (at normal time - 3:30 p.m.), I was relieved. My hair was pulled out from my pony tail in at least 3 places (Piper loves to pull hair now), my face hadn't seen make-up in days and, my clothes resembled something I'd wear to bed. That's what my husband gets to come home to on the more difficult days. Lucky guy, right?
When I hear my husband pulling up the driveway, Piper and I usually stop what we are doing to met him at the door. Yesterday was no different; there I was at the door, looking like a walking zombie with my hands full of a 7 month bouncing infant (most likely tugging at my hair). The only difference was that he also came to the door with his hands full. They were full of beautiful flowers and a card.
All of a sudden, just like that, I wasn't tired anymore.
His love didn't stop there, either. He started on the piles of dishes in the sink, got dinner in the oven and attended to Piper while I took a little rest. What a blessing after a tough day!
Even the hard days aren't really hard, because of him. I am so thankful!
