Don't you just love when Monday doesn't seem quite like "Monday"? Yesterday, Piper and I were busy girls; so busy that we forgot what day it was!
It started out as a quiet morning. During Piper's nap, I walked (actually, I dance-walked to music) on the treadmill for 30 minutes (as planned). I took a shower, got ready for the day and decided we were going to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather we were having while it's here!
My husband was working downtown in the city yesterday, not too far from the lake. It was in the mid-70's with lots of sunshine. He was more than happy to meet up and eat lunch outside by the water. We both kept saying that it felt like we were on vacation. We really love Lake Erie!
Piper was in such a good mood yesterday! She was talking (babbling) up a storm and was all smiles while we ate lunch. She even tested out her new trick where she says "mum mum mum" with her arm extended and hand open toward my food. Piper knows what she wants and how to get it, alright.
For lunch, I had a club wrap with fries. It was so, so good! The food at this restaurant and the view from our table was just unbeatable. Vacation, indeed!
After lunch, Piper and I went shopping! I bought her two outfits with my Babies R' Us Rewards; an outfit for Thanksgiving and an outfit for Christmas pictures. Afterward, I used the Mother's Room there (which is really, really nice) to change and feed her.
When we were finished at Babies R' Us, we went to Target and a couple other places. Piper napped for about an hour and a half in her stroller while I shopped for some clothes for myself. It was really nice because that gave me enough time to try on jeans, and then some more, and then some more until I found the ones that felt best. Jean shopping is not my favorite thing to do but, I really enjoyed myself with Piper by my side!
I saved quite a bit during my shopping trip! I basically bought an entire new wardrobe (or what constitutes as a wardrobe according to me). I got myself 3 new pairs of jeans, 6 new tops and 1 new dress. I bought my husband some new cologne and perfume for myself, too. Now that I have some new clothes, I am going to work on cleaning out my closet, next.
After our shopping trip, Piper had some visitors when we got home. Her great grandparents stopped by to play with her and get her nice and tired for the night. When they left, I gave her a quick bath, put her down and made myself dinner (as planned).
I am really glad that I stuck to my exercise and meal plan for Monday, and I'm even more glad that we had such a fun day!
