I can't believe Piper's First Halloween has come and gone. I remember handing out candy at my grandparents house while I was pregnant last Halloween, wondering what this year would be like with a 9 month old. I remember a moment when I sat quietly alone, with my hand on my belly, excited with the thought and anticipation of meeting Piper and sharing in her first Halloween. I took a moment this Halloween to remember that moment. I am so beyond thankful she is here!
Piper's First Halloween was so much fun! We dressed her up as a Cabbage Patch Doll. It was the sweetest thing. On Saturday, we handed out candy at my grandparent's house. My grandma actually had my old Cabbage Patch doll there at her house. I wish I would have gotten a picture of Piper playing with it; they were almost identical!
Piper would only keep the Cabbage Patch wig on long enough for a few pictures. She's not too fond of things on her head at this age. Thankfully, her Great-Aunt Brenda was there to give her a box of sugar babies to play with. It helped keep her mind off of the wig for a few moments so we could get a few pictures!
When we hand out candy at my grandparent's house, we hand it out to children from inside their garage. Piper was having a lot of fun walking/strolling around in her walker on the cement floor in the garage. She was able to go really fast; so fast that she actually followed a big group of trick-or-treaters halfway down the driveway! Nick and I were right by her side, of course, but we couldn't stop laughing! They thought it was pretty funny, too.
Needless to say, I think she'll definitely be ready to go out trick-or-treating next year. Just wait until she finds out there's candy involved (and what that tastes like)!
Readers, how was your Halloween 2015?
