Nothing really beats the motivation you get from the start of a new year, am I right? That's how I feel, anyway. I am so excited about 2016 and all the great things in store for us!
As you may already know from my New Year's day post, one of my goals for the new year is to start tracking calories, again. Tracking calories really helped me lose weight before getting pregnant in 2014, so I'm going to work on being more consistent with calorie tracking this year. (You can see all of my goals for 2016 by clicking this link: Happy New Year - 2016).
I track calories through a website (and app) called Sparkpeople. I made my food tracker public so you can see what calories I have tracked each day by clicking this link: Food Tracker. (Full disclosure though, I don't usually log my calories until after Piper has gone to sleep for the night, but if I get the chance to log throughout the day, I will.)
If you're really interested, you can also request to follow my food journal on Instagram: foodofgoaloflosing. It's all in the name of accountability, folks. I need all the help I can get.
Last night, I tracked my calories for January 1st and the total came out to an even 2,000 calories for the day. I feel like that's a good number for me right now. I didn't really restrict myself from what I could have throughout the day, but I did keep myself from going for "seconds"; especially during the lunch at my grandparents house. (Psst. What is it about parent's and grandparent's house that makes you want to eat, and eat? It's so comforting!)
You may have noticed that I took a little break from blogging from Christmas week until the first of the year. That wasn't exactly planned, however, it was nice. I plan on catching you up on all that happened in that time this next week. You can looking forward to hearing about: Piper's First Christmas, Piper's 11 Month Update, My Jazzercise Update (to keep or cancel), and more!
Want to know what else is in store for the blog this year? Well, you tell me! I'd love to hear what updates you would like to see more of in 2016. I've created a super quick survey for my readers. I would love it if you would share your input with me!
Readers, you can participate by clicking this link: Goal of Losing Questionnaire - 2016. (If you have already filled out the survey from the link in yesterday's post - thank you! I love going through all the data.)
