This morning, my sister, Beckah, called me at 5 a.m. to tell me the gender of her baby. It was the best wake up call, ever!
I don't think I shared this with you, yet; my sister is pregnant! Surprise!
My sister also lives in Guam now.
If you remember, my sister got married in July and then moved to Guam to be with her husband in September. I knew she was pregnant before she left, which made it even harder to say good-bye. It's been a hard three months without her but, I get to see her almost every day via Facetime, so that helps.
Right now, I am the only one in my family that knows the gender of her baby. I have to hold on to this secret until Friday. On Friday, I get to host a small gender reveal party for my mom and grandma. Beckah and her husband will join us via Facetime. I am so excited! I can't wait until Friday!
In the meantime, I have been doing a lot of shopping. I went shopping for the baby today, and that made me very happy. I also checked off a few more people on my Christmas list.
Since I was up early this morning, I took a shower and put on make up like a real person. I'm a stay at home mom, so it should be noted that most days a shower doesn't happen first thing in the morning. Make up and real clothes happens even more rarely but, I'm trying to get back in the habit of getting done up and dressed up in normal clothes, most days of the week. Even if it is just yoga pants and a t-shirt, it's better than pj's all day every day.
Today, I wore jeans, a nice sweater and my new leather jacket. It was a major success in the stay-at-home mom department.
Piper was such a good girl in the store today. It wasn't very busy since we went early in the morning so, Piper had fun walking with me around, instead of getting pushed around in the cart like usual. Most of the time, I didn't even have to hold her hand. She listened very well, and stayed right next to me the whole time. She was my little shopping buddy today!
I have 25 people on my Christmas list to shop for, not counting Nick and Piper, and I'm about halfway done now. I can't believe Christmas is just a couple weeks away. There will definitely be more shopping to come this week!
Readers, do you have a long Christmas list? Is anyone done shopping yet?
