Goal of Losing was created in 2011 as a way for me to document my journey of living a healthier lifestyle. Titled from my goal of losing 100 pounds, Goal of Losing is a blog filled with simple recipes, healthy living tips and updates from my every day journey of losing weight while living life.

If there's one thing you need to know about me, it's this: I don't believe in putting your life on hold in order to lose weight, and I don't do diets. Okay, I guess that was two things but, you get the point. I try to practice moderation and balance in all I do. You will never catch me strictly depriving myself of carbs, chocolate or any food exclusively on my journey of losing weight.

Since I am a firm believer in not putting my life on hold to lose this weight, it's me living out my everyday life that is mostly documented here. You'll read all about my life adventures with my husband/high school sweetheart {Nick}, our daughters {Piper and Delaney} and our two dogs {Max and Topher}.

About Me
My name is Kalyn and I have been writing for myself at Goal of Losing since 2011. Over the years I have worked as a Paralegal for Child Welfare and as a Site Admin for our Church. Currently, I am a stay-at-home mom to our two daughters.

In 2009, I married my high school sweetheart, Nick. We have been together since we were 15, and I've known that I wanted to marry him since I was about 12.

We live in our hometown in Pennsylvania where we both grew up. Together we've built a home in this small town where we are proud to raise our daughters, Piper (born 2015) and Delaney (born 2020).

  1. So beautiful and brave you are Kalyn - to share your journey so openly. I like the idea of being slow and steady about this weight loss journey as I am learning that rushing it has just rushed it all back on when I rebelliously deviated from the strict rules I'd imposed upon myself - whether they are eating related or exercising related or even mental. God bless you and your family. May you be well and thrive on this journey.

  2. Stumbled across your blog somehow. Having those intermittent Blogger-commenting issues. Sorry if you’re getting duplicates from my attempts.

There are a few scattered communities of SP refugees out there, me included. ❤️

You’ve probably already found an alternative nutrition tracker, but in case you’re still looking, many have switched to Cronometer and MFP. I have been using LoseIt since 2011 so I just kept with it.

Best wishes for your success! 💖
