And I Will

I'm not going to lie. I did a pretty great job last week.

I had a couple battles to overcome, but I knew what I wanted and I went for it. I had a three-day business trip and fair week to get through, and I successfully overcame both obstacles. Eating fair food and eating while out of town are two big challenges that have gotten the best of me in the past. This week, however, was nothing but success and it feels good!

While at the fair this past week, I was more picky than I use to be about what I ate. I use to easily cave in to the fair food temptations; doughboys, pizza, blooming onions, deep fried oreos.  This week, I stuck with a Gyro for dinner and shared a milkshake for dessert.

As for my business trip, I mostly ate salads and/or subs for lunch and dinner. I was lucky for my hotel to be near a Subway. That definitely helped me stay on track! I also took advantage of the hotel gym while I was out of town. I stuck to my workout plan for the week and even went further than I expected when I ran my first two-miles without stopping!

I decided to reward myself with a new pair of running shoes while I was out of town. I was definitely past due for a new pair of running shoes. I have been running in some pretty beat up sneakers these past couple years. In the past, I didn't feel deserving of a nice pair of running shoes, but I decided that it's about time that I invested in myself; in my hobby, and in my health.

All of my self-control and hard work this week paid off. I am down a pound on the scale and I couldn't be happier!

I am so close to reaching my goal of getting out of the 230's. This is just one of my goals for the month of September. The rest of my goals for the month are below:

September Goals:
Break out of the 230’s
Run a 12:30 minute mile (done!)
Exercise 4 days a week (done 2 weeks)
Track nutrition 5 days a week (done 2 weeks)
Try a new recipe
Try something I've never done before (ran two miles straight)
Go back to church (done 9/15/13)
We are halfway through September and I'm halfway through my goal list. I am determined to reach all of my goals this month!
This upcoming week also has some challenges, weight-loss wise, but I am determined to get through it successfully.

As you can see from my plans for the week, I've got yet another business trip. I am also going on vacation. Two definite barriers for weight loss, however; as I said before, I'm determined to reach my goals this month and I will.
