Easing Back into Reality

I'm easing back in to reality, one step at a time.

The memories of vacation have been making these past couple days back at work, much easier.

This morning, I was 20 minutes late due to snow. I guess I forgot how to drive in it.

After a week of this kind of weather (picture above), I guess that's quite possible.

This week, I am taking simple steps to get myself back in to a healthy living routine.

I am working on increasing my water intake (again). That was a huge problem for me while I was on vacation. It's easy to drink water when you've got a routine down, but when you don't know where you are going to be from one day to the next, it is easy to forget this simple habit.

I am working on sticking to a meal plan. Meal plans (at least for dinner) really seem to help me stay on track. After a week of not knowing what I was going to eat from one meal to the next, it feels really good to have a plan, and stick to a plan, again.

This week's dinner plan:

Tuesday - Steak Salads
Wednesday - Turkey Burgers with Salad
Thursday - Shrimp with Rice and Broccoli
Friday - Steak Salads
Saturday - Mindy's Turkey Chili

Those are the two main things I'm working on this week, as I ease myself back in to reality.

  1. I really struggle with sticking with a menu plan. I run into a lazy streak where I don't want to cook so I turn to ordering pizza or fast food!

    1. Oh, I hear ya. :) I have those nights from time to time, as well!

      I try to grocery shop for my planned meals for the entire week on Sundays. I also try to plan for meals that use produce that would go to waste if I didn't make the meal when I plan to make it. This way, I end up sticking with my meal plan to avoid wasting the food I already bought! :)
