Never Fail Until You Stop Trying

I need to get it together. Yesterday, I overate and did not exercise.

Question: How is that going to help me with my goals for March?
Answer: It's not going to help, at all.

March Challenge

Dinner plans for the week:

Last night, I was suppose to make peach and salsa chicken over rice. I bought a whole chicken for this recipe, and decided I would slow cook it all day.

This is my first time ever cooking a whole chicken, and I think I did a pretty good job. I seasoned it right, I slow cooked it on low for 8 hours, and it smelled great when I walked in the door after a long day of work. I only did one thing wrong. I forgot to remove the bag of organs.

Dinner ruined. It turns out that melted plastic is not one of the ingredients for the peach salsa chicken recipe. Who would have thought?

I am not going to lie, I was a little frustrated with myself. Instead of throwing a big fit, I only threw a little one. Then I put on my big girl pants and made something different for dinner. I really wanted to just call and order some take out for dinner, but I decided to make a cheese stromboli, instead. I used the ingredients we had on hand for calzones on Friday. Two dinner plans changed for the week, all because I was silly and didn't know there was a plastic bag of organs in the chicken.

The homemade stromboli was higher in calories than I had planned for the day but, it was better than the alternative of ordering out. Since I had gone way over in calories for the day (2,163) it would have been a great idea to get in my planned cardio. However, I was spent by the time dinner was done. My husband and I watched a rental movie, instead.

To make up for yesterday, I am planning on staying within my calorie range today and will fit in both my cardio and strength training this evening.

Truthfully, I was really motivated throughout the day on Monday, but when something went wrong and threw me all off, I felt like I had failed. However, with the freshness that a new day brings, I have come to realize that yesterday was just a setback. After all, according to Albert Einstein, "You never fail until you stop trying..."

  1. Wow, I had no idea they put organs inside the chickens like they do with turkeys. You live and learn. Good job not letting it get you completely down!
