Baseline Measurements

I am down more than 40 pounds from my highest weight of 270 pounds and this is the first time I have taken my measurements to share with you all. To be honest, I have been reluctant to do so, and yet, I wish I would have done it sooner.

At 40 pounds into my goal of losing 100 pounds, I can understand how important it is to have more than just the scale to go by when measuring the affect of your weight-loss efforts. This is true for when you feel like the scale has wronged you and also when the scale may be giving you a little too much credit. The later being my current situation.

After losing all of my baby weight in only 10 days postpartum, I feel as if the scale is giving me too much credit. I am almost 8 weeks postpartum now and while I am at a lower weight than pre-pregnancy, my clothes are still not fitting me quite like they use to. Pre-pregnancy, I had quite the opposite experience. The problem at that time was the scale wasn't moving while my clothes were beginning to fall off of me. These are the situations when baseline measurements can be used to monitor your true progress.

While I wish my baseline measurements were done at my highest weight of 270 pounds, that's no reason not to start right now. My baseline measurements are below. These measurements were taken on March 7, 2015 at 232 lbs.

Neck: 16 inches
Arms: 18 inches
Legs: 26.5 inches
Chest: 51 inches
Waist: 48.5 inches
Hips: 59 inches

I anticipate these measurements to prove useful in the future.

It's not the best feeling to post pictures and measurements of yourself when you aren't where you want to be in your weight-loss journey. I know that's what kept me from doing so in the first place. Take it from me though, don't let that stop you. Believe in yourself; believe you will see progress and that it is worth it.

This is just another step toward the right direction and I'm willing to do what it takes to reach my goals, while still enjoying the amazing ride along the way!

P.S. I hope you are enjoying my SnapFit Giveaway! If you haven't done so, enter for your chance to win now!
