Progress Not Perfection

Happy Friday, friends! How has your week been? Mine has been pretty great! I'll give you a little recap on how I've been doing with my goals, thus far. After all, I've found that accountability is such a big part of weight loss; all must be shared, the good and the bad.

I've been living by the words "strive for progress, not perfection" this week.

The Good:
- I ate within my calorie range for 3 out of 5 days this week. Progress; not perfection.
- I drank 120 ounces of water 3 out of 5 days this week. Progress; not perfection.
- I worked out for 2 days this week (the third coming tomorrow)!

The Bad:
- We ate out for dinner on Tuesday night. Things got crazy and before we knew it, it was 8:00 and we were starving. No excuse; just setting up the scene. We ordered a large salad and breadsticks. I do feel good though that we didn't order our usual fried sampler basket, calzones or wings; so I feel like there was some progress here. Progress; not perfection.

I am going to check the scale on Sunday. I don't expect a great loss, but I'm hoping for some progress! I have some definite improvement to work toward, which is motivating me to work hard throughout the weekend, and even looking forward to next week!

This past week, I had some great family and friend time. I went on a walk with my grandma and Piper; I visited a friend during a walk with my husband and Piper; I visited another friend and got to take pictures of her adorable newborn (aka most photogenic baby in the world); and now it's the weekend and I can't wait to see how much fun we can fit into it!

Readers, how was your week? What are your weekend plans? What motivates you to continue to eat healthy throughout the weekend ahead?

  1. Your "bad" wasn't even THAT terrible, so I'd say you've made great progress! :) We don't have much in the way of weekend plans, but my motivation for eating healthy through the weekend is that I don't want to blow all of my weekly points in 2 days (my Weight Watchers week starts on Saturday). We had visitors the last 2 weekends (we live in New Orleans, so it happens a lot), which means lots of eating out; I chose 1 restaurant each day to really eat whatever I wanted, and sort of planned the rest of my eating around that. It worked out well!

  2. The hardest part is eating out! It's hard to reign in and make good choices. Looks like you did a good job :)
