A Little Room For Error

The first week of May has already come and gone. I feel like time is on fast forward right now and I can't slow it down. I want to slow it down because this is when it starts getting really good. The trees are getting greener, and the weather is (eventually) getting warmer. We are spending more time outside which is where I really want to be.

Actually, that's why you haven't heard much from me these past few days. I've been spending my spare time outside! I'll talk more about my outdoor adventures another time, though. Today I want to revisit my goals for May.

As you may remember, I am doing things a little differently for May. I'm working toward one goal a week. Here's the breakdown of my goals:

Week ONE - Drink 64 oz. of water each day
Week TWO - Stay within calories 5 out of 7 days
Week THREE - Exercise 3 out of 7 days
Week FOUR - Drink 100 oz. of water each day

Starting weight: 247 lbs. | Goal Weight: 237 lbs.

Week one went really well. I drank at least 64 oz of water every day. I even went over that water goal a couple times last week. May is off to a good start!

I decided that I would do my weigh in for week one on Friday. I love Friday weigh-in's for a couple reasons. Mostly, I like to weigh in on Friday's because it is motivation to do well over the weekend. Also, if I do over indulge during the weekend, it won't show up on the scale immediately. I have time to work it off before the next weigh-in, which in turn is even more motivation to do well during the week. I hope that makes sense. It works for me, anyway!

Week ONE weigh-in: 245.9 lbs.

Yesterday started Week TWO for me and since it was Mother's Day (I'll share a post on that, soon), I didn't stay within calories. That's especially why I'm happy that I gave myself a little room for error this week. I just have to stay within calories for 5 out of 7 days. I can do it!
