Reintroduction Time

I've noticed a lot more traffic coming to my page lately and I feel like I should reintroduce myself for any new readers I may have gained.

My name is Kalyn and I am 29 years old. I have PCOS but, I am not letting it define me.

I am married to Nick, my high school sweetheart, and together we have a daughter, Piper Grace.

Piper is 2 years old right now and will turn 3 in January. She is a rainbow baby and we couldn't be more thankful that she's here with us. We prayed so many days for this baby of ours. We named her Piper and her middle name is Grace but, I use her middle name often because I love it so much.
Fun fact: One day on my ride home from work, while I was pregnant with Piper, a man on the radio described the definition of the Grace we've been given from God. I knew right in that moment that Grace was going to be Piper's middle name. It is truly by the Grace of God that we have our sweet, independent, and smart Piper Grace with us today.
I started this blog many years ago, in 2011, to help keep me accountable to reaching my weight-loss goal. My ultimate weight loss goal is to lose 100 pounds. Each year, during New Year Resolution time, I'd find myself always making some sort of "goal of losing weight". That's where I got the name for this blog, "Goal of Losing".

Goal of Losing is a blog about my goal of losing weight while living life. There's a lot of my shared experience here on my blog as I've lost {and gained and lost} weight throughout the years but, there's also a lot of my life happenings here too. I am a firm believer of losing weight without putting life on hold so, you'll hear a lot about what's going on in my life lately. My biggest goal of all is to lose this weight while living my life and enjoying myself.

From 2011 - 2014, I had successfully lost 40 pounds. Going from about 270 lbs down to about 230 lbs.

In the Spring of 2014, I found out I was pregnant with Piper. {Praise God!} I gained about 40 lbs. during my pregnancy in 2014. I weighed in at 271 lbs. right before I was induced.

I gave birth to Piper in 2015. Throughout 2015 - 2016, I lost my baby weight quickly, going down to about 230 lbs. and then gained about 25 pounds of it back. While losing weight was on my mind, it wasn't a high priority. I was learning how to be a new mom and to be honest, a lot of midnight comfort-food snacking did a number on the scale during that time.

At the beginning of 2017, I weighed in at 255 lbs. Currently, I am 235 lbs. I'm about 20 pounds down in 2017 and, I am planning on losing more weight before the year closes out.

Right now, I have a goal of losing 30 pounds before I turn 30 in February, 2018. I still have about 25 pounds or so to lose before I reach that goal and, even though the holidays are coming up {hello,  dreaded holiday weight gain} I'm not giving up. I believe in myself!

Now, it's your turn! If you're a new reader here {or even a regular reader} please introduce yourself in a comment below! I'd love to know how you found my blog and what keeps you reading! Do you have a goal of losing weight, too? Or do we have anything else in common? Let me know!
