I had a thought the other day about how mundane this season of winter has been. I feel like I’ve almost mastered losing weight in the mundane seasons, but I’m a little nervous about trying to lose weight when things get super busy again.
It’s easier to plan and take the right action when I’m focused on my goals. I’m nervous because I know when things get busy I tend to react to whatever needs my attention and my own goals usually go to the wayside.
Why am I thinking about this now? Well, I know that the full force of Springtime is coming. The end of the school year and the transition into summer is inevitable (and very much welcomed). As much as I love the season to come, it does tend to be a tricky time for me as far as prioritizing my health goes, but it doesn’t have to be as tricky as it once was.
I’ve learned a lot in this mundane season, things that I will carry with me into the busier seasons.
- Whenever things get too busy and if I don’t stay on track, I don’t have to wait until I feel like I’m ready to get back on track. I just do it. Then, I do it again, and again.
- Spring and summertime is a good time to reconsider my deficit and goals. I’ll likely be moving more which means more room in my deficit, which sounds great to me!
- Focus in on microshifts and celebrate the small wins, always!
